Features

Every swing and putt, in 3D.

Real strokes, recorded on a smart watch: a putt, and a full swing on Wrist action. Drag to turn it, press Play to watch it again, and switch between the 3D motion, wrist action, tempo and the hand model.

Tempo, Wrist action and 3D motion are GyroGolf Pro features.

3D-putt motion

3D-swing and 3D-putt motion

Your hands, on the path they took.

A 3D model of your hands and watch rides your wrist’s path, turned the way your watch was turned. The path grows behind your hands as the stroke plays.

Colour and thickness follow your hand speed or your rotation rate: blue is the slowest part of that stroke, red the fastest. Read the live hand speed in mph and rotation rate in RPM, scrub through the stroke, and drag to see it from any side. A putt is drawn at putt size and starts face-on to its line.

Wrist action

How far your wrist turned.

Wrist action is how far your wrist turned about the vertical from address to impact, in whole degrees: open, square or closed.

Watch your hands turn in place over a ring, from the line they held at address to where they were at impact. It works for swings and putts alike. The words never say “face”: the watch measures your wrist, not the club.

Tempo

The rhythm of your stroke.

Tempo is your backswing time divided by your downswing time: from address to the top, then from the top to impact. GyroGolf shows it as a ratio, with both times in seconds.

  • Swing, 3 : 1. Three counts back, one count down: the rhythm of a smooth full swing.
  • Putt, 2 : 1. Two counts back, one count through: a smooth putting stroke.

Within 10% of the target reads “On tempo.” Otherwise GyroGolf tells you which way you’re off, and what to change.

Hand model

Match the 3D hands to yours.

Right-handed or left-handed, with the watch on your left wrist or your right. Your lead hand wears the glove.

Recommended: your lead wrist. That’s the left wrist for a right-handed golfer.

Honest to its sensors

What a wrist can’t see.

Your watch measures your wrist’s orientation and acceleration. Everything GyroGolf shows is worked out from those two. Three things can’t be seen from the wrist, so GyroGolf doesn’t guess them:

  • Clubhead speed
  • Clubface angle
  • Ball flight

Hand speed is the speed of the watch on your wrist, not your clubhead. The 3D hands are drawn, not measured: the watch can’t see your wrist hinge or your trail arm, so they look right near address and impact and less so at the top.
